POV[edit]

  • original text:

Mainstream media mainly treated this as another hostage situation, but this crime was very uncommon. It is very unusual for a special unit of the police to deliberately shoot a car with hostages inside (videos of the event show bullets coming from every direction), let alone killing all of them. Non-mainstream media experts claim that in this particular office the bank stored documents relating to then president Carlos Menem, specifically to his son's helicopter accident, and this was the reason for the police killing every possible witness.

Carlos Menem's son, Carlos Jr., died in a strange helicopter accident in March 1995. The chopper was found on a open field, burnt. The justice resolved it was an accident, but the bullet holes in the helicopter were never explained (neither shown by mainstream media). Experts say it was a job of the organized crime, particularly a Middle Eastern mafia, which was allegedly linked to Menem's reelection campaign for, coincidentally, 1995.

I haven't been able to find references on this. I'll try to re-word it, but it might need more than that. Mariano(t/c) 12:11, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stale References[edit]

References to articles from La Nación no longer work (they require registration, which is a barrier for most casual users). I've added some working links to Clarín articles, one mentioning the involvement of the Federal Special Operations Group in the massacre. Should we remove the stale articles? Ok, since no-one replied, I'm removing the non-working references. Andran 16:27, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GEOF vs BEOH[edit]

Nkcs removed my mention of GEOF (a Federal special group) and included BEOH (a Provincial special group) instead. The problem is that this article from a newspaper identifies two special operatives indicted in the following trial as belonging to the GEO. I always thought the GEO and the GEOF are the same. Any Argies have an opinion on this? Andran 19:46, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Answered on his talk page. --Nkcs 03:09, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
