You need to pay attention they said he finished filming December 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.27.114.65 (talk) 03:29, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Punisher: Warzone finished in December 2008?[edit]

"Stevenson finished filming Punisher: War Zone in December 2008"

So, just out of curiosity, who on wikipedia has a time machine? Can I borrow it? I'd like to go to December 2008 and get some winning Powerball lotto numbers. 64.150.129.138 (talk) 23:41, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Northern Ireland,,,,[edit]

Last time I checked, Northern Ireland is a part of Britain, which by my reckoning would make him British - not Irish, non!? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.109.180.14 (talk) 12:01, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Northern Ireland is not part of Britain. Britain is the island to the east of Ireland. Northern Ireland is part of the UK. ( The United Kingdom Of Great Britain & Northern Ireland ). Citizens of Northern Ireland can choose Irish, British or both citizenships if they so decide. Hammertime2009 (talk) 16:24, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Personal information: I thoght Mr Stevenson was married to actress Debra Stevenson and that they have 2 kids together. Married a long time (I thought). They worked together on episode of 'Bad Girls' (ITV series). She appeared in 'Coronation Street' a few years ago and is also an impressionist, working with John Culshaw, I think. I could be wrong. Could someone check? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrs skellen (talkcontribs) 18:02, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, Ray is with his partner Elisabetta Caraccia an Italian anthropologist and they have 2 boys together. I am very familiar with ray. The info listed is correct. Maryannob (talk) 07:16, 8 December 2011 (UTC)maryannob[reply]

He is now married to Elisabetta Caraccia
Yet in his biographical summary, she is listed as his partner not his wife.

Nationality.[edit]

Surely it should read either Northern Irish or British? Unless he has stated himself that he regards himself as Irish, I don't see how it is factually correct as a description, seeing as he was born in Northern Ireland and grew up in England. The two citations are also complete garbage. One links to a horoscope page, and the other to a page full of pictures. Both seem fan-made and can hardly be regarded as reliable sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.222.252.88 (talk) 14:35, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Add a source. If not dont adjust. Murry1975 (talk) 14:39, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There are no realiable sources stating that he is Irish, just fan-made pages. Seeing as he was born in Northern Ireland that would make him Northern Irish and British by default. Either description is fine by me, but unless he's stated himself that he regards his nationality as Irish then I don't see how he can be described as such. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.222.252.88 (talk) 14:43, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The pix one only the picture are fan posted, the bio isnt. The horscope one is not a fan page at all. Someone being born in NI can be Irish, or British or even Northern Irish by default. I dont have a problem with any, just make it referenced and not OR. Murry1975 (talk) 14:51, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Calling him "Irish" seems tendentious. A large proportion of Northern Irish people do not choose to identify as Irish, preferring British, Northern Irish, Ulster or some combination of the three.

In any case, it's fairly obvious that Stevenson is a forces child born to an English father while he was stationed in Northern Ireland, and that they relocated to their country of origin (i.e. England) when that tour of duty finished. The fact that the family relocated to the north-east of England is significant, and the fact that Stevenson is one of the signature names of that part of the world reinforces it and tends to suggest that his identity is at the very least as English as it is (Northern) Irish and probably more. Baldly asserting that he is "Irish" is about the least satisfactory way to treat the question of his nationality, in my opinion.

This is just my commentary - I'm not advocating any particular change to the article, but these are factors that are worth considering.Shiresman (talk) 14:40, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the Irish claim as the two 'sources' provided had absolutely no credibility. He was born in the UK to a British father so unless actual evidence can be shown to prove that he is Irish, his nationality will stay as British. 194.80.247.245 (talk) 11:23, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It was changed to Irish again and I have reverted, I have also placed a request at another off Wiki board for references to the nationality issue so hopefully we can end this dispute.--Mark Just ask! WER TEA DR/N 22:34, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So here is the compromise. Feel free to slap me around a bit if you disagree. Since we cannot find a source that claims either and even though many contend that Irish is indeed an English decent, it may be best to leave the text as: "George Raymond "Ray" Stevenson was born in Northern Ireland on 25 May 1964 and grew up in England.[1]".--Mark Just ask! WER TEA DR/N 23:36, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That seems a bit clumsy and inconsistent with most other leads, how about; George Raymond "Ray" Stevenson (born 25 May 1964) is a Northern Irish-born English film and television actor. Tanbircdq (talk) 18:04, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I came here after reading his CNN obituary which describes him as British, and seeing the description here in the article that describes him as "Irish", which is incorrect. It's factually incorrect to describe him as Irish, that's not a passport nationality designation for someone born in Northern Ireland. One might describe him as Northern Irish or British. Unless he's taken a different nationality after his birth. This should be fixed by a mod and then the page locked. 76.167.242.86 (talk) 18:36, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why people here are claiming there are no reliable sources saying he's Irish. The LA Times called him Irish which isn't any less reliable than the American source (The Mercury News) currently being used to describe him as British. I'd argue its a more reliable well known newspaper from America than The Mercury News. In addition to this The Independent, a UK source have called him Irish along with The Times of India, the most reliable English speaking newspaper in India. Multiple sources in Ireland have also described him as Irish but I imagine you'd all brush those off as biased so I won't bother linking them. I'm not gonna die on the hill that he should be called Irish but a lot of you are really showing your bias here if this is somehow more acceptable than the sources I presented. Also to the user without an account above, you might want to read up on the GFA if you think its "factually incorrect" to describe someone from Northern Ireland as Irish. They not only have the right to that self indentification without question but are entitled to an Irish passport too. Stevenbfg (talk) 09:35, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ray Stevenson (actor)Ray Stevenson – Clear primary topic by page views. If moved, the disambiguation page should be deleted since it would only contain this page and the other page Ray Stevenson (political activist), and a hatnote should be on this article to refer readers to Ray Stevenson (political activist).
