Tags[edit]

Article is tagged for expansion and copy-editing. Sorry if my work is seen as somehow inadequate after 76,000 edits, but these tags need some justification or I will remove them. Rodhullandemu 17:52, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am the one who tagged this article with both copyediting and expansion, and if you want justification for them, then I will be more than happy to explain why. But first, I'm surprised to see a Wikipedia admin comment in a manner that implies article ownership, act as if the tags were a personal attack, and finally throw an edit count out, as if this has anything to do with how well an article is presented. No article is ever perfect, no article is ever complete.
  1. Copyedit: I added this earlier in the month after a quick look and noticing a few things that could be tweaked, missing and inconsistent punctuation throughout, strange white spacing, inconsistencies with WP:MUSTARD, overly detailed information that is irrelevant to the casual reader (WP:DETAIL), typos, needed internal links, and implications that the reader understands more than the article is letting on (WP:OBVIOUS), etc.
  2. Expand: Professional reviews should no longer be included in the infobox. They need to be moved to a Reception (or "Critical reception") section. See Wikipedia:Album#Professional_reviews for more information. For the article to achieve C-class, it needs to have a lead-in and an additional section of prose.
So, you see, I was merely trying to help the article by suggesting improvements, not make anyone feel like their work was inadequate. – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 18:55, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Forgive my short-temper, but I am not psychic. You'll find that all the other Fairport Convention album articles I have written probably need the same changes, and WP:MUSTARD may have changed in the interim. One day I will perhaps have the time to go through them all. Rodhullandemu 19:05, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. I came across the Red & Gold article a while ago, but any other album articles I've looked at since then have been as a casual reader and I wasn't in "edit" mode. Besides, I thought the Red & Gold article to be pretty informative and worthy of expansion. – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 19:12, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Premiere[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that the day before the release of the album (late December 1988), they all went down the pub (The George, Barford St. Michael), and premiered it in the back room. The set list was the entire album, apart from the title track "because Simon hasn't learned the words yet". --Redrose64 (talk) 19:31, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
