Lancaster Online Parish Clerks is a transcript of Births, Marriages and Deaths for Lancashire. It shows a record as follows:

   Baptism: 15 Apr 1855 St Mary the Virgin, Blackburn, Lancashire, England
   Reginald Aspinwall - [Child] of John Aspinwall & Jane
   Born: 3 Jan 1855
   Abode: Preston
   Occupation: Newspaper Reporter 

Note the date of birth is 1855 not 1858 as in the Wikipedia page. There is no similar entry for 1858. The 1861 census entry for Preston lists the following:

   4 Grafton Street, Preston
   John Aspinwall, head, married, 46, reporter for a newspaper, born Lancashire Salford
   Jane Aspinwall, wife, married, 31, no occupation, born Lancashire Preston
   Reginald Aspinwall, son, aged 6, scholar, born Lancashire Preston 

The entry for the census of 1871 confirms that Reginald was attending Art School - further evidence that this is the correct Reginald:

   Reginald Aspinwall, son, unmarried, 16, School of Art (apprentice), born Lancashire Preston  

I am therefore confident that 1855 is the correct date of birth, not 1858. Fgtbell (talk) 16:14, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

I suggest Reginald should be known as a landscape painter unless counter-examples exist. I have looked and cannot find any - though of course it is not possible to know what may be in private collections. So I would propose to describe Reginald as a "landscape painter" unless anyone knows otherwise ? Fgtbell (talk) 17:51, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
