Limitations of Esaki diodes?

[edit]

I am removing the following passage as unclear or/and ungrounded: "Compared to the Esaki tunneling diodes, which are essentially discrete diodes and therefore incompatible with modern Si integrated circuit technologies,..." If this is not a biased statement, it should be explained. 12.104.156.31 (talk) 00:23, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request for review

[edit]

The part of the article describing the radiation of terahertz wave by a RTD upon application of a voltage, needs to be explained elaborately. The language is not clear and hence the idea is not getting communicated properly.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.110.246.33 (talk) 15:13, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar issues

[edit]

This article has some issues with English grammar (omission of articles and articles where they should not be used, subject-verb agreement, etc.) which I am fixing because I have nothing to do right now, 70.114.146.227 (talk) 05:07, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Eric[reply]

Introduction could use complete rewrite

[edit]

This article could use a lot of rewriting, particularly the introduction. The introduction looks like it was written by someone who not only doesn't know how the RTD works but doesn't know what most of the words mean. It isn't clear from the intro whether the RTD is an experimental or applied electronic component, what its applications are, and how it differs from a tunnel diode. "The current-voltage characteristic often exhibits negative resistance."??? The RTD s negative resistance is why it was developed, and key to how it works. --ChetvornoTALK 14:43, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
