Obtaining a "Powell Probe"?

[edit]

Does anyone know, did Roger ever build any Probes for anyone else? Are they obtainable? I have been completely mesmerized by that keyboard since I first saw it in the late "70's...John63.215.27.170 05:15, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jan Hammer had one, but it really should count as a second prototype, as it had a different design. Powell's Probe had a slot that the players left hand went through, and pitch bend control was a thumbwheel on the back surface. Hammer's Probe lacked a slot, instead ending in a sort of "horn" and pitch and modulation wheels apparently lifted from a Mini-Moog. Hammer appeared on the September 1985 issue of Keyboard magazine with his Probe. He can also be seen playing it on the video for the song No More Lies.

Where was he born?

I do not see it in the lead of the text. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 20:34, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Right Greg Koch?

[edit]

Is that the right greg koch? The Greg Koch article mentions nothing about music, which had me wondering. Certainly people can be multi-talented . Family Guy Guy (talk) 14:21, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
