Leitrim

[edit]

I misinterpreted the map I was looking at, and assumed this Roosky was in Leitrim. Looking again, it seems not, although confusingly the map on the County Leitrim place has it marked (I've put an explanatory note on).

So in summary, *is* there a Roosky in Leitrim?

Yes, on the south shore of Lough Melvin (on the R281 between Kinlough and Rossinver). Map here. -- Picapica 16:17, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Reversion

[edit]

I reverted a lot of unsourced, perhaps unencyclopaedic material added by User:CianDiffl - if that can be sourced then by all means reinstate it. --AndrewHowse (talk) 04:21, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And I have just reverted it again after it was reinstated. Some of what was added may be accurate, but some of it was highly improbable. Per WP:V, it is up to the editor adding material to produce references to justify its inclusion, and none of this was referenced. I hope that this material will not be reinstated unless it is properly referenced to reliable sources. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs)
And again. This is the slowest persistent vandalism I've seen. --AndrewHowse (talk) 02:09, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Roosky or Rooskey?

[edit]

I notice some editors have replaced "Roosky" with "Rooskey" in the article. On maps it appears to be spelt without the 'e' - which is correct? Sarah777 (talk) 15:42, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article still, 2 years on, has a mixture of spellings. I'm stub-sorting Monsignor Brendan Devlin who was apparently born in "Rooskey", and I'll make a redirect as an alternative spelling, rather than pipe or have a red link, until anyone decides anything else. Google has 102k hits for "Rooskey Ireland" and 56k for "Roosky Ireland". PamD (talk) 13:27, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
