Unclear
[edit]The reference to Matilda of Caen is unclear. Could it be Cecilia of Normandy, who was associated with Caen? Charles Matthews (talk) 19:47, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Can we add an image of a rotulus showing what direction the writing is done? RJFJR (talk) 18:43, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
Rotulus and volumen
[edit]Under the two portraits is written: "depicting two different men wearing laurel wreaths, one holding the rotulus (left), the other a volumen (right)". The picture itself does not justify this description. There is no indication that either man is holding a rotulus, nor any reference to any scholarly work arguing that it is.
