Bulava ballistic missile fired by nuclear submarine ‘Generalissimo Suvorov’
[edit]The DoD reported on its telegram channel today, that:
"The Bulava ballistic missile was successfully launched by the newest strategic missile submarine ‘Generalissimo Suvorov’, as part of the state tests' final phase.
◽️ On the Kamchatka Peninsula's Kura training area, the missile was fired from a submerged position in the White Sea.
◽️ The Bulava ballistic missile was launched in the routine mode. The rocket warheads successfully landed in the designated area of the Kura training ground, according to objective control's verified data.
The second ship in the Borey-A series is the strategic missile submarine ‘Generalissimo Suvorov’. In Severodvinsk, it was constructed at the Sevmash production association. The submarine is a nuclear submarine missile carrier of the fourth generation, and it is equipped with cutting-edge navigation, radio engineering, sonar, and missile and torpedo weaponry systems. Both its acoustic stealth and mobility are excellent."
I, not being a military expert ;-) would interpret this as the submarine being in normal operation itself AKA "commissioned" and helping in tests regarding a new type of missile. Manorainjan 18:23, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
