"unsourced" tag

[edit]

i removed the "unsourced" tag. could you please provide some examples of statements in the article that are in need of sourcing? (to me, the article seems largely descriptive and uncontroversial.) thanks. Lunch 02:49, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

is there a geologist aroud there ?

[edit]

This article NEEDS to be corrected by a geologist. No kidding, it's a mess, with many wrong sentences... Geojide 15:08, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

could you elaborate on at least some of the "many wrong sentences"? what's wrong with them? what's a good source (book, journal, or whatnot) to use? thanks. Lunch 18:57, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
For instance, the "prehistoric times", or the depositions within seas. I don't speak a good enough english to correct. Geojide 05:17, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added to the first paragraph and changed some of the wording, deposition within seas did sound slightly vauge so I changed to "restricted marine basins" also provided links in the text to the Messinian Salinity crisis and Kara-bogaz as examples of salt deposition. The rest seems fine ClimberDave 12:33, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the link because it lead to a spam page - it appears the old page expired and was bought out by a spammer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Youbetterwork (talkcontribs) 17:13, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name change

[edit]

I propose changing the title to "Salt diapir" so that it includes the full spectrum of halokinetic structures: columnar forms (domes), salt walls, salt canopies, etc. Rygel, M.C. (talk) 12:03, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The link in the ninth reference as well as the first link in the fourth citation do not work. The link in the eighth reference leads to the overall website for the Encyclopedia for Earth and not the specific entry referenced. In addition, throughout the article, there are multiple red links to Wikipedia pages that do not exist. There are also multiple portions of this article with missing citations. I'd like to add that I plan to address these issues. I'm currently a student working on this article for a class. Suhacker256 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 18:33, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
