Suggestions for additions

[edit]

Hello all I am a college student participating in a Latin American History class that is teaching us the importance of the wikipedia by having us propose and conduct edits within the article. This article caught my eye as it highlights both active Cuban resistance as well as events leading up to the bay of pigs. My proposal for edits on this page are as follows: 1. I look to further investigate in greater detail examples of the groups activity within the three eras discussed on the main page. I look to expand upon both the movement before and leading up to United States support and eventual abandonment. 2. Provide Stronger insight into the leadership 3. Analyze the Castro regime's response and tactics as well as the Soviet Union's support against the Rebellion I believe that these edits are important to Wikipedia's pillars as it allows us to gain a more neutral perspective about the era of the revolution as a whole. It is like analyzing the American Revolution without analyzing both the British and American perspectives and plans. It also adds more depth into understanding the often misunderstood or mythical rise of Castro in Cuba and these additions make the movement more grounded and surrounded in fact and evidence. 4. Analysis of the leaders and key figures and their role in the groups rise and fall. Potential Sources for examination of Subject 1. Your proposed edits are comprehensive and explained well. I would perhaps also emphasize the need for structure in the article- make sure that when adding all of this information it is done in a way that is cohesive and intuitive. Perhaps detail the sections you plan to create as well since the article is so small and limited. Another clear issue with the article that you identify is the need for more sources of information, and I think you have made a very good start in finding resources that will enhance the article and improve the content.
