Adding criticism about Eurocentrism
[edit]Adding a sentence within the "Criticism" section about how Maslow's idea of self-actualization has been criticized in recent years due to its Eurocentrism, using this source
Reason: The criticism section is outdated and hardly discusses any recent thoughts on the concept. Additionally, it is important to to include applicability to other cultures.
Adding a sentence about how self-actualized individuals interact with those who are not self-actualized, using this source
Fixing small grammatical errors throughout, as well as changing confusingly-worded sentences
Reorganizing some information, such as references to Goldstein outside of his section, as well as changing paragraph breaks so that related information is together and unrelated information is separated
Removing clunky in-text citations, which are unnecessary due to the reference list at the end
Specifically: Under "History and development of the concept" where it says "Maslow (1943, 1954)" as well as where it says "One of Abraham Maslow's earliest discussions...pp. 370-396."
Removing a citation from "about.com," which is a site on Wikipedia's blacklist. I have found a different secondary source that supports the information from this source.
