Problems

[edit]

Wow, lots of problems--lack of units for equations, references to "the body" that aren't explained, rambling style...No time to fix now.Ccrrccrr (talk) 04:03, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How rough?

[edit]

Is it reasonable to say "to a very rough approximation each transports about half of the heat"? According to Figure 7 on p.206 (PDF page 10) of http://www.geo.utexas.edu/courses/387h/PAPERS/kiehl.pdf , "Earth's Annual Global Mean Energy Budget", by Jeff Kiehl and Kevin Trenberth, latent heat ("evapotranspiration") transports 78 W (per square meter) while sensible heat ("thermals") transports 24 W. That's more than 3 to 1. --Vaughan Pratt (talk) 00:48, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
