Construction

[edit]

Is the Shenai usually made of wood? Is the bell the only metal section?==Design (talk) 11:59, 13 March 2008 (UTC) it is the best instrument ever made in the universe —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.198.161.0 (talk) 12:22, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reeds

[edit]

Is the shehnai a double reed instrument, as stated in the introductory paragraph, or quadruple reed, as stated further below and in other articles? SteubenGlass (talk) 00:22, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Edit

[edit]

This article is about the instrument, and as such I've reorganized some of the information to make it more universal. I've changed the header from "Shehnai players in India" to simply "Notable players", in order for more notable players from outside India to be added. In addition, I've removed the recently inserted images that placed undue weight on the players and not the instrument itself. As this and other shehnai-related articles have been subject to COI edits recently, I've added this page to my watchlist and will be patrolling it to ensure it remains neutral and free from COI edits. Simple version of "between 6 and 9" and is "7 or 8"

[edit]

The current text contains:

"It usually has between six and nine holes."

This text means it usually has either seven or eight holes. Why not write:

"It usually has seven or eight holes."

then? If, on the other hand, six and nine holes are meant to be included, I would suggest:

"It usually has from six to nine holes inclusive."

Could someone knowledgeable inform me how many holes a shehnai (usually) has?Redav (talk) 20:26, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
