Population

[edit]

@SharabSalam: thanks for participation, I wonder if you explain why to change the percent of Shia and Sunni population, while the source does not support your edit. RegardsSaff V. (talk) 07:20, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Saff V. well that was a revert to this version when I saw that 25% and 75% estimates are not in the source and that 45% Shia is in the source I reverted to that version. The sources don't say 25% of Muslims are Zaydis, it says 45 and it says 53% are Sunnis(which I didn't notice) I will fix the number of Sunnis.SharabSalam (talk) 07:55, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I see. "Zaydis make up about 45 percent of the population, Sunnis 53 percent and there are also tiny minorities of other Shia groups - the Ismaili and Twelver communities" this is what the source says.Saff V. (talk) 08:12, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. That previous version says Zaydis make up 25%--SharabSalam (talk) 08:16, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Population numbers are contradictory

[edit]

"approximately 65% of the population practices Sunni Islam, while around 35% adhere to Shia Islam. The vast majority of the Shia population are Zaydi, with minorities of Twelver and Isma'ili Shias. Collectively, Yemeni Shias account for over two-quarters of the country's 25 million people."

The last sentence contradicts the first sentence. High surv (talk) 05:22, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
