Abbreviations

[edit]

Probably we should write out the whole name of kennel clubs, since there are so many little internet businesses and controversial kennel clubs that have set their names up so as to have the same abbreviations as those of a major kennel club. I don't know offhand of one called "UKC" but its probably out there. Clearer to spell the whole thing out, I think.--Hafwyn (talk) 21:06, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"...they may be different species"?

[edit]

Subspecies, ok, but species? They have to be dogs! Chrisrus (talk) 18:47, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

...provisionally...

[edit]

What MSW3 does is not to provisionally list the NGSD as C. l. dingo, though that is close to the truth. The provisionally keep C. l. dingo separate from familiaris, instead of uniting the two as one domestic dog subspecies. The proviso is that the reader/user understand that both dingo and familiaris belong to an unranked thing between subspecies called [domestic dog]. That's what the citation says, so I'm changing that part. Chrisrus (talk) 16:18, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Non-Sporting Group which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  05:39, 22 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pariah Dogs?

[edit]

This page redirects to the Sighthound page, which makes it difficult when navigating information related to Pariah dogs. Could this be made into an article explaining the group, and linking to both pages? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C48:6A80:AF:B4D2:ED08:2990:6C3E (talk) 19:44, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have written a reply to you here, basically the term fails Wikipedia’s notability guidelines for an independent page as it is only used by a single kennel club, perhaps you could consult the UKC’s website if you are seeking additional information on what they believe pariah dogs are.
