Image of cap badge required

[edit]

Does any body have a good picture of the sikh light infantry cap badge (or emblem)? If they do it would be appreciated if it was added to the top of the info box at the top of the article. (Smith012 (talk) 13:10, 6 April 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Role of Sikh Light Infantry

[edit]

I am concenred about the type and role of Sikh Light Infantry. In terms of role, the Sikh LI operate purely as an Infantry Regiment and are considered equal in terms of operational capability to all other regiments within the IA (regardless of valour in operations,) furthermore, their role is traditional infantry, which has developed from their light infantry role. Thus I am changing it, keen to discuss. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.89.61 (talk) 10:59, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I blanked a lot of this article a few days ago due to major copyright problems that go right back to its very creation. I am not sure whether I've caught them all but it seems clear to me that the article will need to be re-written from scratch. - Sitush (talk) 18:38, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant source

[edit]

The following source is cited for recruitment-related detail, although it doesn't mention anything about recruitment:

  • Singh, Sushant (14 March 2015). "Standing at Ease". The Indian Express. Archived from the original on 4 June 2016.

It does contain the following detail which may be relevant to this article:

When Jat Sikhs mutinied in a few units after Operation Blue Star in 1984, their Mazhani and Ramdasia Sikh brethren in the Sikh Light Infantry did not follow suit.

Anyway, I am removing it from the article for now. - NitinMlk (talk) 21:08, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
