I am having problems trying to get cite web to work (which I use all the time). Anyone know what I did wrong? Turlo Lomon 17:05, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Got it. Wierd format error that I was receiving. I guess because of the length of the refs or something. Turlo Lomon 17:14, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Star trader

[edit]

According to Polish Wiki article, in 1982 SPI published a game 'Star trader' (economic space opera board game). Under the Polish name 'Gwiezdny Kupiec' it became a cult classic in Poland. I cannot find such a game listed on the List of SPI games. Is the name wrong? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 19:50, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a notice at the bottom of the list, stating it is incomplete. Which is something of an understatement. SPI produced an incredible number of games in a decade. It shows up at the Compendium under that title, so I've added it. --Rindis (talk) 20:20, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Naming problem?

[edit]

The article text and the info box show the name as "Simulations Publications, Inc.", but the title of the article is "Simulation Publications". Is the title wrong? Should the article be moved to "Simulations Publications. Inc."? Was it moved from that title for reasons that aren't clear and someone forgot to "fix" the rest of the article to match? What's going on? Other articles that link here are being redirected from "Simulations Publications, Inc." 12.233.146.130 (talk) 21:12, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TSR acquisition of SPI -- problems

[edit]

Reading the section on TSR acquiring SPI I see no reliable sources (usenet posts[1] and retracted articles[2] are not generally reliable sources) and the story here disagrees sharply with both the timeline and the story told by TSR. Notably the timeline on when TSR acquired SPI's copyrights and other IP, and the timeline on when the SPI employees left for greener pstures, differ by a full year. The story's details could be a "he said, she said" problem (both sources are primary and both have dogs in this fight as they say) but the timeline is definitely off since TSR's story of these events was published in the August 1982 issue of Dragon Magazine,[3] yet the story told here says that TSR did not acquire the copyrights until some time 1983. Given both the lack of good sources and the glaring timeline error I think we should be using the verifiable TSR version of events unless a new and reliable source can be brought to bear, in which case we can write that there are conflicting stories and detail both with sources. One thing that might help is if anyone can dig up any local court records on the "secured debt foreclosure" which TSR says happened sometime near (after?) April 1982. 172.88.134.126 (talk) 14:47, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
