Slum clearance should not redirect to Urban Renewal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.11.204.52 (talkcontribs) 20:56, 26 May 2008

Why not? The article does address slum clearance e.g. in the second paragraph. I'm not sure that a separate article could be written without being a content fork. - Fayenatic (talk) 22:33, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose it would create a content fork, but its the phrase 'urban renewal' slum clearance and Urban Renewal - they don't seem to equate the same thing.

Removal programs of the favelas flourished once again in the 1970s under the military dictatorship, disguised as a government housing program for the poor. What really happened was that more favelas were eliminated and its residents were displaced to urban territory lacking basic infrastructure.

Slum clearance seems alot more like the above, while Urban renewal is somewhat different, wouldn't you say. Apologies for the this mess of a reply, but I hope I have cleared up my point, and look forward to your reply (Synkipate 19:09, 28 May 2008 (UTC))
