I believe a Spanish guitar is the type of acoustic non-steel strung guitar that originated in Spain especially the designs of Antonio Torres Jurado.

The term covers both classical and flamenco - they are very similar. Flamenco guitars are specialised versions of classical guitars. Only in the last 100 years has there been a distinction. Chrisjwowen (talk) 15:38, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is indeed an interesting discussion. One thing is certain: the term "Spanish guitar" is not very good to use at all if it is to be used in contrast to a flamenco guitar, which is often from Spain. --188.151.162.97 (talk) 18:58, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
