Confused by description of ownership of TILO trains

[edit]

The FLIRTs used by TILO are covered in both the Swiss and Italian sections of this article. The Swiss section includes all 30 TILO FLIRTS in the count of SBB owned FLIRTS. The Italian section also talks about 30 trains.

(Actually both originally talked about 19 4-car units delivered and 11 6-car units on order. I've updated this to reflect that at least some of the 6-car units have been in service since at least early last year).

But my real confusion is that I've observed that some of the units carry SBB ownership markings, and others carry Italian ownership markings. So if the SBB owns 30 units, does that mean that the 30 units covered in the Italian section are in addition to those (ie. 60 units in total). Or is the Swiss section wrong to claim SBB ownership of all the TILO units, and there are really only 30 split between the SBB and Trenord.

Can anybody clarify?. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 18:11, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
