Starr built two airplanes in competition with the Stits family for the title of the world's smallest (piloted) airplane: Bumble Bee, pictured in the Pima Air Museum, and Bumble Bee II, which crashed during testing, leaving only one known (copyrighted) picture. Photo Change[edit]

I believe that it is confusing for the main image of the article to display an aircraft that is not the subject of the article, but has a similar name. A reader who does not notice the difference of "I" instead of "II" in the caption could think that the photo is of the Bumble Bee II, which is a different aircraft. This photo belongs in the "aircraft on public display" section, so I moved it there. A better main photo is the world record certificate, which I moved to be the main photo. Which Bumble Bee?[edit]

Photo change?[edit]

The current infobox image is the image of the Starr Bumble Bee II's Guiness world record. Shouldnt the image of the aircraft in the article be the infobox image and the record put in the article? A-37Dragonfly (talk) 01:23, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The problem that has already been noted is that the aircraft image is of the Bumble Bee I where the scope/subject of the article is the Bumble Bee II. If the article was moved to Starr Bumble Bee and reworked it could cover both aircraft, we could have the aircraft image in the infobox and everyone would be happy. Oh I see, so the image of the aircraft in the article is the Starr Bumble Bee II's predecessor and there is no uncopyrighted image of the real Starr Bumble Bee II as the only image was copyrighted. A-37Dragonfly (talk) 20:44, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Images of the Bumble Bee II are available and they could be uploaded as non-free as the aircraft was destroyed and there is no way of obtaining a free image.
