Vandalism

[edit]

Removed this statement: "Len was sad, ultimately committing suicide." Looked like vandalism ENSSB (talk) 23:06, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oddities and apparent Vandalism

[edit]

Removed information about Charles Steward and the toy being filled with packing peanuts.

Circus peanuts would stretch better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.185.84.11 (talk) 04:29, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If someone can cite these things then feel fgree to re-add them. But I think I read somewhere that the toy was actually filled with corn syrup. (even mentioned in the Plastic Man article) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Feddx (talkcontribs) 15:31, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of misc. information

[edit]

An admonishment against listing culturally relevant information in an article about a toy - oh, the irony of it all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.167.198.121 (talk) 11:17, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image needed

[edit]

This article could really use an image of Stretch in the stretched position. Does anyone reading this have the toy and a camera? --Guy Macon (talk) 21:18, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Consumer Safety Commission

[edit]

Is there anything to the onion's Consumer Safety Commission Fondly Recalls Stretch Armstrong Doll or does it belong in the same bin as Elvis sightings?--174.99.238.22 (talk) 22:44, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Safety issues, weaponization

[edit]

The toy was filled with a thick corn starch and water or corn syrup mixture making a non newtonian fluid. When force is applied the fluid instantly hardens. Reports of injuries to children when struck with the toy. The toy when striking a child turned into a heavy rock hard club. Some reports speculated more injuries from the toy happened that weren't reported because children didn't report fearing the toy would be confiscated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.164.73.58 (talk) 17:43, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Repair Kit

[edit]

I saw one of these toys at a friend's house long ago, as his kids played with it. Their kit had some elastic band-aids for repairing the figure should it spring a leak due to a tear in the "skin"! WHPratt (talk) 15:10, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
