Suicidality redirects here but this link says it is not about suicidal ideation alone

Hatnotes to help people
[edit]I think there should be two hatnotes as follows:
Pinging @User:Ravenpuff in case they wanna chip in cos they were the one who deleted them Stephanie921 (talk) 11:10, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Stephanie921: I understand the intention behind this, but we would need to build sufficient consensus to include such hatnotes. Similar discussions have taken place at Talk:Suicide, as I observe you have come across. In any case, I'd argue that we should at least be internally consistent – whatever approach we take there should also be adopted here; currently this consists of a hatnote link to Suicide prevention. I might also note that readers contemplating suicide would probably be more likely to end up at Suicide than here, although that doesn't necessarily mean that we shouldn't add a message here if deemed appropriate, of course. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 23:15, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- @User:Ravenpuff I think we should add a hatnote at suicide ideation and that suicidal people would end up here, although I would not add one without consensus. For example, although I am not suffering from suicide ideation atm I have in the past - and went to here as well as suicide - because I didn't actually want to kill myself and I just wanted my problems to go away. So, I went to the ideation page because I was having suicidal thoughts. I feel like a lot of people have done/would do the same, since a lot of suicidal people mainly want to stop being in pain Stephanie921 (talk) 01:41, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
- @User:Ravenpuff I hope what I said here wasn't triggering Stephanie921 (talk) 04:06, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
Crisis hotline image in lead
[edit]@Dustfreeworld added the crisis hotline image in Special:Diff/1227129080. I removed this at the Suicide article, and am adding this removal in the talk page because it will possibly be disputed. My reasoning for the removal is the same as that in the Suicide article in Talk:Suicide - crisis hotlines are not important enough to be addressed in the lead. — Karnataka 08:34, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
