COI editing

[edit]

In reply to the email I received from someone who say that they work with Tania Fares: please read WP:COI and discuss any suggested changes to the page at this talk page.

You say "We would also like to remove Sian Westerman." but the words "Tania Fares and Sian Westerman are Co-chairs of the BFC Fashion Trust" appear here: are you suggesting that the BFC page is incorrect? You assert "Most importantly, Tania is the Founder of Fashion Trust": please provide a source for this (or point out where it is stated in the existing sources: I'm a bit too busy to check them all right now). Thanks. PamD 09:31, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I note that this source describes her as "cofounder of the Fashion Trust, the charitable arm of the British Fashion Council (BFC)", and that's how the article describes her. PamD 09:57, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You also say "We would like to remove "financier", could you please share with me other relevant terms that we could use instead?": in creating the article I struggled to find a suitable term to use here, I admit. I read that she "also invests in young designers anonymously", in addition to her work with Fashion Trust etc. Perhaps "philanthropist" is appropriate? She isn't described anywhere that I can quickly see.

Wikipedia follows what is published in independent reliable sources, rather than what a subject or their colleague or employee would like to see published. PamD 09:57, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have been asked again by email to "remove Sian Westerman", but both the sources used support the fact that she is co-chair of the BFC Fashion Trust and there seems no reason to remove her. PamD 10:48, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Another apparent COI edit has attempted to remove Sian Westerman - but published sources show her as co-chair, and the natural question for the reader seeing "co-chair" is "with whom?", so this is relevant content. PamD 15:14, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
