I'll see what I can find as far as early history goes. Is there anything you could add to the culture section, ta bu shi? There's only so much one can find online. Pictures would be excellent, too. :) Ambi 06:32, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I'm sure we can find heaps! Looks like I've got my work cut out for me... I'll start researching when I get the chance! - Ta bu shi da yu 06:48, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Is The Rocks a suburb or government subdivision, or just a generic 'precinct'? (Though I doubt it, just that if it were it might be better at The Rocks, New South Wales to keep consistency). T.P.K. 12:33, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I think it's both a suburb and a precinct, as it shows up as an area with its own postcode on streetdirectory.com.au. I think it's fine where it is at the moment - there's not much else for it to be confused with. Three of the top ten Google results are for this precinct, and the seven others are irrelevancies and things that would never be in Wikipedia. Ambi 06:36, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)
The Geographic Names Board includes The Rocks as part of the suburb of Millers Point, so technically it is not a suburb in itself. However, mail addresseed to The Rocks is delivered, and it appears as its own subdivision in the UBD and Gregorys. This is similar to Barangaroo over in East Darling Harbour - it will not be an actual suburb but will be recognised by this place name. Jeendan 09:09, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images Image:Therocks-sydney1.jpg and Image:Therocks-sydney2.jpg are uploaded and ready to be added, only I don't know the new html that makes pictures turn out so nice... KJ 01:24, Oct 9, 2004 (UTC)

Done. Thanks a bunch! Ambi 01:37, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Culture

[edit]

First sentence in the second paragraph mentions that two seperate pubs claim to be Sydney's oldest surviving pubs. Which are they? Perhaps even a link to an article on those pubs. On another note, I had heard that Jackson's had burned down a number of years ago, and not rebuilt. Is this true?Asacan 03:39, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After being told a while ago that my moving some of the article's images into a gallery was undesirable, I'm wondering what has now changed? - Dudesleeper / Talk 02:26, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The silence is deafening. - Dudesleeper / Talk 10:31, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

added a category

[edit]

i have just added the category "Australian historic places" to this article, as The Rocks area contains numerous heritage listed buildings. Coolabahapple (talk) 11:32, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
