Thermus flavus

[edit]

Is it also known as Thermus flavus? Google showed this page as result but the page does not seem to mention the word "flavus", so I am unsure. 2A02:8388:1604:F600:3AD5:47FF:FE18:CC7F (talk) 05:48, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Evaluation

[edit]

The lead section provides a brief but accurate overview of the bacteria. However, it is not organized in a way that reflects each of the sections below. Additionally it provides information that is not detailed elsewhere in the article.

The content is relevant to the bacteria and its many uses. From a cursory glance over the article, all the information seems to be up to date as of 2024. In regard to the tone of the article, all of the information provided appears to be neutral and purely factual. It does not attempt to argue a certain position in any aspect. The sources range from 1974 to 2018, with the majority of them being around 1990-2010. They provide the context and the papers necessary to back up the claims in the article. Many of the links work.

The article is well-written but could stand to be more organized. There seems to be a lack of cohesion between the sections, which is a little jarring. There are a few spelling and grammar mistakes. The article does not include images of the bacteria or any other material covered in this article, such as a picture of the thermal vents that it can naturally be found in. The talk page is severely limited, with only two sections added to the talk page. It is rated as Start-class and is part of the Microbiology WikiProject at a mid-importance level.

Overall, this article has much work to be done on it. It has a good start to it, but stands to be developed more. Perhaps adding a morphology and metabolism section to the cell structure section could assist. The lead should be rewritten to better reflect the article. Spelling and grammar mistakes could be fixed, and pictures could be added. The addition of these elements would improve this article.

Is there a certain way to recruit others to assist with this page?
