[edit]https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Ty shows that in January '24 we had 2.9k incoming views, and could identify only 379 outgoing clickstreams total. Of those, 199 went to the company, 92 to the given name list, 23 to the video game tiger, 17 to rapper and a handful of other topics. 199/379 would be ~53% while 199/2.9k would be ~7%, and neither of these indicates there is a primary topic. The company was sorted much lower now, at the top of the last section, so this might have had an effect, I'll move it up to see if it changes. --Joy (talk) 16:00, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- 53% would indicate a primary topic according to our guideline, considering it's also more than double the next highest topic. Station1 (talk) 22:03, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- It's a weak indication, because we don't see most of the long tail, which could easily bring it back below 50%. And besides, the logic of this isn't exact - if we consistently see that ~50% of readers do not go for the most popular topic, then its claim to primary topic status is very flimsy, because we then know we're inconveniencing ~50% of the readers if we change. To put it differently, it's like a difference between supermajority, majority and a plurality. --Joy (talk) 08:47, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
In February, we had 2548 incoming views, 372 total outgoing to seven destinations, of which 205 to company (~8% / ~55%), 66 to given name (~2.6% / ~17.8%), 29 to list of acronyms, 27 to rapper etc. --Joy (talk) 20:58, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
- This was with the company sorted on top for half the month. --Joy (talk) 21:52, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
In March, we had 2676 incoming views[1], and
- clickstream-enwiki-2024-03.tsv:
- Ty Ty_(company) link 201 (~7.5% / ~60%)
- Ty Ty_(given_name) link 53 (~2% / ~16%)
- Ty Ty_(rapper) link 18
- Ty List_of_acronyms:_T link 14
- Ty List_of_Latin-script_digraphs link 13
- Ty Ty_the_Tasmanian_Tiger link 12
- Ty Ty_Dolla_Sign link 12
- Ty Týr link 10
- total: 333
So the MOS:DABCOMMON sorting had very little impact. Note also that a substantial number of items are very close to the <10 anonymization threshold, so this is not necessarily very reliable. --Joy (talk) 13:58, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

As this pattern of odd traffic is persisting, I went to look at incoming traffic sources.

Sadly the vast majority of the traffic consistently had an empty referrer and the clickstream analysis software couldn't identify the source. If we pretend for a moment that all of that traffic is some sort of bot traffic wrongly detected as users, or something like that that allows us to just discard it en masse, and only compare the remaining numbers, it's like this:
- April 528 identified sources:
- company identified outgoing 133 -> ~25.2%
- May 509 identified sources:
- company identified outgoing 134 -> ~26.3%
- June 504 identified sources:
- company identified outgoing 154 -> ~30.5%
--Joy (talk) 21:45, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- Though, thinking about this, some amount of clickstream source-destination pairs could have other-empty as the source? So if we also remove those as unreliable, the ratios would be even smaller. --Joy (talk) 09:01, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
