Fair use rationale for Image:UlzanasRaid.jpg

[edit]

Image:UlzanasRaid.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The ending of the page about the 2 versions is incorrect. Both versions differ for ab out 8 min.

The 2 versions of Ulzana's Raid, the Aldrich cut released in the USA (103 min) and the Lancaster cut released in Europe (101 min) contain both several scenes not to be found in the other version. In 1986 a German TV station combined all scenes of both versions and created thereby an unofficial version with a runtime of about 111 min (106 min in the Pal TV standard). The Director's cut is the the one by Aldrich though, the only one released on DVD so far, but this long version is an interesting improvement on the film's themes and motives. Aldrich in an interview from 1976 (Robert Aldrich, Interviews, University Pres of Mississppi, page 106): "... nobody's ever changed any pictures of mine in the last 10 or 15 years. Burt Lancaster changed the foreign version of Ulzana's Raid, for what reason I don't know, but not the American version."

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. EvergreenFir (talk) 20:30, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship to the Vietnam War

[edit]

What is the evidence that the filmmakers intended this film to be "allegorical to the United States participation in the Vietnam War"? 173.88.241.33 (talk) 00:26, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
