  1. Jyotisha (jyotiṣa): astrology and astronomy, dealing particularly with the auspicious days for performing sacrifices.

Jyotishya - does NOT particularly deal with auspicious days for performing sacrifices as listed above. That is just ONE of its many uses. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.136.110 (talkcontribs)

it's spelled Jyotisha, and here we are discussing Jyotisha as a Vedanga discipline, not modern Jyotisha. --dab (𒁳) 16:34, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Someone had made the following comment in the main article, it did not belong there, so I moved it to the discussion page:

 As Vedic Vyakaran is known as Nirukt;in the main article of this topic Vedang,at point 
 no. (3)&(4),the same thing is repeated,wherefore it needs correction,at the poit no.(3).
 It ought to be read Yoga instead of the cited words Vyakaran(vyakaran)grammar. 

I am not an authority, but this text definitely did not belong in the main article. So I moved it
