Plot inaccuracies
[edit]This denouement written under plot is wrong. The three do not kill Lena and Axel; Wang does not set them on fire! The deaths and final events are convoluted and not as written. It's preferable to have nothing written to something that's wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.246.246.180 (talk) 02:35, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Next steps
[edit]Some things that can be worked on to improve the article:
1) In the WP:LEAD, My source free preview cut off before allowing me to find out what the perspective in the fourth section of the novel was - if someone who has read the novel or has full access to the source could fill that in please.
2) The article contains no publishing information - dates and numbers of copies should be found and added. Conrads comments about the differences in timing of the European release and the US release indicate there is some interesting stuff there if we can find sources. Also, if there are any stories about what "adventures" Conrad may have had in getting this work published (publishers who denied him, bidding wars by publishing houses, stuff his editor had him change prior to publication ... etc. )
3) There still appears to be contention about the plot summary.
4) The adaptations section is unsourced but my sources also seemed to indicate there were stageplay adaptations.
5) The reception and critique section can be bolstered, with sourced information, and it can include any "impact" where other artists have been inspired by or worked against this novel.
Feel free to discuss other stuff that should be added. Active Banana (talk) 16:55, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
