One runway?

[edit]

If it has runways 18/36, I guess this means it has two runways and not one, as it says in the article, though they share the same pavement. Am I wrong? Betomg88 (talk) 13:25, 7 September 2009 (UTC) That's not quite how it works. Each runways has two numbers assigned to it depending on which direction you take off or land. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.113.118 (talk) 16:18, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

18 is the threshold end facing 180 degrees and 36 is the threshold end facing 360 degrees. 23L is the runway threshhold facing 230 degrees on the left hand runway of several parallel runways, and so on.Petebutt (talk) 19:44, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
