Fair use rationale for Image:Wildcat logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:Wildcat logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I would like to discuss the edit revert to my edit

[edit]

@Adog reverted my edit and I would like to discuss reasoning for the revert. I understand my edit may not have been in a good spot for the mention of the creator and the model of Wildcat's Revenge. However I would like to point out that on the Euthanasia Coaster article, there is a mention of a K'Nex recreation under the "In Popular Culture" section, by a creator named "Coaster Obsessed" Also, about the notability he has YouTube shorts showing the coaster in action with thousands of views, one with almost 200k views. Here is the YouTube short with almost 200k views https://youtube.com/shorts/LBT_uXDszE8?feature=share

Please read WP:SPS. YouTube falls into this category, and most videos on the platform are not from reliable sources. If you can establish that the content creator is a subject matter expert in their field and has been recognized by other reliable sources, then that is the first test of Verifiability that needs to be passed. The second test is whether or not the content belongs on Wikipedia. Per WP:VNOT and WP:DUE, not all verifiable material has a place on Wikipedia, especially material that discusses a very minor aspect of the article topic.
Also, please don't rely on content you see in other articles, such as Euthanasia Coaster. Content gets in for a number of reasons; just because it's currently in that article doesn't mean it belongs there. It may not have been properly challenged at that article. --GoneIn60 (talk) 18:49, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As what GoneIn60 stated and my summary left out, "knexhershey" while interesting is not widely notable for inclusion on Wikipedia. A precursory internet search does not mention or cover knexhershey in depth to establish expertise. Moreover, there are a LOT of YouTube channels that do similar content with varying degree of notability among the platform's audience. I know this video was popular recently for its recreation of Top Thrill Dragster. As another example, we would not include that video on TTD's article because it is trivial to the overall topic and that the creator is not an expert in the field of roller coasters. Maybe an expert in knex building, but not roller coasters. Adog (TalkCont) 21:52, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did also take the liberty of removing the Euthanasia Coaster reference. Adog (TalkCont) 22:37, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
