Connections between the nucleus (nc) and the mitochondria (mt) seen in Cafileria
  • ... that the microscopic organism Cafileria is the only living being that connects its nucleus to its mitochondria? Source: [1] "A peculiar major ultrastructural phenomenon of C. marina is the tight connection of the mitochondria and nucleus in young cultures. Although the clustering of mitochondria near the nucleus was documented in [...] mammalian cells, [...] a full conjunction of these two compartments [...] has not yet been described."

  • This is good to go for DYK. Article is newly minted as good, long enough, and within policy. The hook is quite interesting (I don't have an in-depth background in biology or protists, but I immediately thought of the hook as interesting; the mention of Cafileria having such a one-of-one distinction is nice). Based off xtools, I believe this is Snoteleks' first DYK nom so QPQ can also be waived off here. Good to go for the DYK section and good job on the article! Soulbust (talk) 18:36, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
