Dinting Viaduct

[edit]

Dinting Viaduct in the snow

  • ... that Dinting Viaduct (pictured), near Glossop, needed to be strengthened twice, from using timber arches to adding brick support columns?
  • ALT1:... that Network Rail spent £6.4 million refurbishing just one bridge (pictured)?
  • ALT2:... that in 1855, three people fell off a viaduct (pictured) to their death thinking that their train had arrived in the station?

  • New enough. Long enough. Earwig's Copyvio Detector shows "27% - violation unlikely". Well-referenced, including all three hook options. All paras referenced. NPOV. Image suitably licenced for front page. I prefer ALT2, perhaps with a change of wording to "fell to their death from", as they did all die. Edwardx (talk) 22:45, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
