John Bauer (illustrator)

[edit]

Tuvstarr

  • ... that among John Bauer's most noted works is the watercolor Still, Tuvstarr sits and gazes down into the water (pictured)?

1915 watercolor of trolls by John Bauer

  • ALT1 - without the template I'm not sure how to insert ALT verbiage. What about another option: ... that John Bauer is best known for his illustrations (example pictured) in early editions of Bland tomtar och troll (Among Gnomes and Trolls), an anthology about Swedish folklore and children's fairy tales? The image is a watercolor of trolls he made in 1915.
  • ALT2 - using the same picture of the trolls as in ALT1: ... that details in the clothes of John Bauer's trolls (pictured) were inspired by Roman sculptures? -- w.carter-Talk 10:05, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
It's a great article, but might I suggest a more concise hook as follows:

1915 watercolor of trolls by John Bauer

  • ALT3 ... that the Swedish illustrator John Bauer is best known for his illustrations of gnomes and trolls (pictured)?
Otherwise, length and date are fine, the article is well written and reliably sourced and all three of the proposed hooks are fine. Prioryman (talk) 19:29, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Any of the hooks is fine by me. I'm not picky. :) Thanks for the review! I take it as a great compliment when the reviewer wants to get involved in the nomination. All the best, w.carter-Talk 19:36, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
  • OK, we're good to go in that case. I'll leave the choice of hook to the person who puts it on the Main Page. Prioryman (talk) 07:36, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
