Toxic vacuolation

  • ... that toxic vacuolation (pictured), the presence of vacuoles inside certain types of white blood cells, can be a sign of sepsis? Source: Bain, 2016: "In blood films spread without delay, the presence of vacuoles in the neutrophils is usually indicative of severe sepsis, when toxic granulation is usually also present." [1]
  • Reviewed: This is my 2nd nomination, so I haven't reviewed any others yet.

  • ...I really enjoyed this easily explained article...thank you. Are you sure the image is toxic and not pseudo... they look like uniform multiple vacuoles but you know better. Whispyhistory (talk) 20:34, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
Whispyhistory I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed my article! I was worried that it was a bit inaccessible. I took that picture myself, and it was from a very ill patient with toxic changes in their other neutrophils... but you're right that the picture doesn't demonstrate that, and it's also a bit WP:OR, so I don't mind if you want to remove the picture from the nomination or even from the article. I'll probably be able to get a better pic eventually. :) SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 20:44, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
I trust you...can you clarify details about size and uniformity of vacuoles in the article. All should be good to go after. well done. Whispyhistory (talk) 21:02, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
I've edited the article to clarify - let me know what you think. Thanks, SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 21:45, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
...thank you...that clarifies it...copyvio ok, image ok, hook in article and cited. Moved to main space within 7/7, no QPQ required. well done. Whispyhistory (talk) 21:47, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
