Prescript[edit]

It seems to me that this template is failing to display introductory text as follows:

This article incorporates text from a publication now in the public domain

Is this easy to fix? – Fayenatic London 14:16, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fayenatic: For most of these type of templates there are two of them. One that displays the lead and the other that does not: eg {{EB1911}} and {{cite EB1911}}, or {{EBD}} and {{cite EBD}}. In this case you need to use {{EBD}}. -- PBS (talk) 14:32, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I thought the point of Cite EBD was to allow URLs other than WikiSource. Can the latter be added/documented at EBD, please? – Fayenatic London 15:44, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Both {{cite EBD}} and {{EBD}} contain the parameters "wstitle" and "title" as options depending on whether the text is on Wikisource (copied text does not have to be on Wikisource to have been copied from an EBD article, and an EBD article on Wikisource may just have been used as an ordinary source to confirm a fact — hence the need for both parameters in both templates.
I have updated the document is that sufficient? If not then either do it yourself or place your proposals here and we can discuss it further.-- PBS (talk) 10:45, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
