[edit]

Between these: | flag alias = Flag of Nepal.svg
| border =

Would go this:

| flag-alias-old = Pre 1962 Flag of Nepal.png

@Technical 13 and Spesh531: There were two errors in this code, which SiBr4 has now fixed. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:59, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

Hello. I have created the redirect Template:Country data Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. Please, add it. emijrp (talk) 12:33, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Size

[edit]

It was requested at my talk page to slightly decrease the default icon size for Nepal from 22px to 20px. Does anyone object to that being done? SiBr4 (talk) 21:10, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@SiBr4: The Nepal flagicon must be reduced at least to 23x19px, see List of FIFA country codes#FIFA member codes – the Nepal line is a few pixels taller than the all others, and it doesn't look good. (23x20px is still not enough.)
By the way, see again Template talk:Flaglist – people hate your 23x22px default size; they must use a size=....px parameter in articles.
Maiō T. (talk) 13:18, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I made the change to 20px. Hardly any articles require equal-height flag icons to be used instead of similar-area ones; articles that do can use the size parameter to force the icon height to 15 or 17 pixels. I'm not sure what's wrong with doing that, nor whether List of FIFA country codes is really one of those articles.
Note that I didn't originally increase the icon size; Illegitimate Barrister set it to a width of 18px in July 2014. With the Nepalese flag's ~1:1.22 aspect ratio, that implies a height of nearly 22px, so my change to 23x22px in August didn't noticeably alter the size. SiBr4 (talk) 17:49, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Your change to 20px allowed me to remove the custom size parameter for Nepal that was previously required to maintain line alignment in these articles with separate row number columns:
List of countries by intentional homicide rate.
List of countries by incarceration rate.
For more info see Help:Sorting and the section currently titled "Auto-ranking or adding a row numbering column (1,2,3) next to a table". --Timeshifter (talk) 18:34, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@SiBr4: SORRY !!! I didn't notice that was Illegitimate Barrister's fault. He increased the height from normal 17px to brutal 22px
@Illegitimate Barrister: Why do you do such things without any discussion? In 2013, that was my idea to reduce the height. We held a long discussion about it at VPT.

Add | flag alias-Mustang= Flag of Mustang.svg underneath flag alias-old, and | var2 = Mustang underneath redir3. Per Flag of Nepal#Other flags. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 13:23, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}} template. "Per Flag of Nepal#Other flags" is just a couple of flags, not a discussion. Upper Mustang is a small "remote and isolated region" and not Nepal any more than Minnesota (Template:Country data Minnesota) is the USA (Template:Country data United States). [edit]

Can you change the size to 12×20px please? The Nepalese flag looks so damn wrong when it's flat. We should try to keep the ratio as close as possible to the original flag.Pktlaurence (talk) 20:37, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: I have changed the aspect ratio to 24x20px to better match the figure of 1:1.219 given in Flag of Nepal. Is that what you meant? – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:51, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Border

[edit]

Would anyone support adding a bordered image of Nepal as all the other rectangular flags have borders? – Mullafacation {◌͜◌ talk} 13:47, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
