Are there similar templates for 20th c, 18th c? Are there similar templates for English, German, American weapons?

A rather similar example I know of would be Template:BritishEmpireWeapons. Cheers PHG (talk) 18:37, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rename?

[edit]

I'd like to broaden the focus to "Groundbreaking French weapons of the 18th and 19th century".

A whole template for the 18th century would be too far; however, the Musket Model 1777, which was the culmination of the Charleville muskets, influenced firearms designers until 1914 and beyond (the German Mauser Gewehr 98 had characteristics from the 1777 corrigé). It seems that Napoleon Bonaparte first gave most european states the idea of the concept of the "service weapon". --Dingo (talk) 10:06, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's the point of this template?

[edit]

In whose view are these weapons "groundbreaking" - is this OR? Shouldn't we have templates which arrange millitary equipment by type, rather than trying by "how important" we think they were? The Land (talk) 18:46, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I was about to post that. "French weapons of the 19th century", fine. "Groundbreaking", though? DS (talk) 14:34, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, it's been five years(!). I'll give it one more week; if there are no objections in that time, I'll rename the template. DS (talk) 02:21, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
