You're not completely off the mark. Either this template is over the history of the "Mongols", which would exclude Xiongnu etc., or it is about the history of Mongolia or Greater Mongolia, which would exclude Kalmykia. Only if you combine what belongs to people and territory, you arrive at such a history. But I don't say that this needs to be inadaequate. Anyway, it appears to me that this template is MORE about Mongols than it is about Mongolia. G Purevdorj (talk) 19:42, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List

[edit]

Some items in the list such as the Xiongnu are not yet confirmed to be Mongolic, so I have put them in italic font. Also we should not push names such as "Tuoba Empire" and "Zunghar Khanate" (which are both less common and also are not the actual article titles) in the list. In almost all cases that I reviewed these terms were pushed by Toghuchar, a sock-puppet of blocked Ancientsteppe, so I have reversed them. --Evecurid (talk) 01:42, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Some adoptions

[edit]

1) Can you add Mengjiang? 2) Can you change "Mongolic peoples" to "Mongols" (no big difference and the core, influential term)?--MongolWiki (talk) 14:19, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your inputs. When you say "Can you add Mengjiang", there's really no "you" for you to be addressing. We own this article collectively. As explained by User:Rincewind42 in Talk:Tibet#Incomplete/Inaccurate History Section, Wikipedia is written by volunteers and can be edited by everyone and anyone. If you think there is something that needs improving, go ahead and make changes directly to the article yourself. See Wikipedia:Be bold. Thanks! --Cartakes (talk) 16:53, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
