PPV Specials

[edit]

Why cant the "PPV" specials be included with the rest of the events. "Technically" they weren't PPVs, but "technically" they were free PPV. PPVs that cost $0. Either way for completion listing all events, such as Destination X together makes more sense than not including them. This is TNAs way of extending the PPVs without making them actual PPVs. They still should be included though. BlackDragon 16:18, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

TNA advertised them as PPVs on free TV anyways. Like if a person wanted to go from say Destination X 2008 to 2013, if it was included then they could just go to it from the template. If not then they would have to search for it. So it should stay, I see no reason as to why they shouldn't. Destination X (2013) and Hardcore Justice (2013) should be included regardless. This is a template titled TNAPPV. You've admitted that this isn't technically a PPV. We don't include Clash of the Champions in the WCWPPV templates. There was a Great American Bash themed Smackdown in 2012 but the WWEPPV template lists Great American Bash as a former PPV which ended in 2009. Likewise, 2013 Destination X is a free TV supercard but is not in any way shape or form a PPV.LM2000 (talk) 21:20, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Template is about PPVs. Destination X and Hardcore Justce are Special event, Quality like a PPV and Hype like a PPV, but free PPV doesn't exist. The template is about PPVs and te PPVS ended in 2012. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 01:48, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Clash of the Champions was a counterpart to Saturdays Night's Main Event, which wasnt a PPV.
  • I believe that SmackDown was called "The Bash" and was a fourth of July special.

Those werent billed as PPVs either. They were simply a special episode, like the Super SmackDown. Again "Technically" is not, but "technically" it is. Technically if its built like a PPV and a continuation of a past PPV then it "could" be a free PPV. TNA built this as a continuation of Destination X. To your point "The Bash" edition of SmackDown doesnt have a page, while these do. Either way for completion we should list the new events with the rest. Maybe just have the events listed as ended in -2012 but list the new events with it. This way someone could go from Destination X (2007) to Destination X (2013) without having to search for it. Honestly what is the harm from adding it? There is no rule saying we can't add it is there? BlackDragon 18:22, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Clash of the Champions and Saturday Night's Main Event were both special free TV supercards, so is this. Whether "The Bash" or "The Great American Bash", both were former WWE PPVs, and a special with that same name ran in 2012. That show does actually have a section here, and it is currently listed on the WWEPPV template... I guess the consensus here will ultimately decide whether that stays. Anyway I'm undecided about linking these, but listing it as -2012. The benefits would be that this would be middle ground and that navigation would be a tad easier. The downsides, again, would be that we are linking a non-PPV show in a PPV navbox.LM2000 (talk) 18:57, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah but I dont think they were called PPVs, just Super Shows basically. If the Bash is listed there then so should this. I think listing the PPV as discontinued but linking the newer ones would be the best option. Easier navigation and it wont hurt listing them. This way people looking at it would see that the PPV is ended but people looking from the, say Destination X template, would also see the 2013 events. BlackDragon 20:25, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Template is about PPVs, no special events or TV Events. Look at WWE PPVs template. [1] King of the ring, the event was held from 1985-2002, 2006, 2008, 2012. The Template talks about PPV from 1993 to 2002, when the event King of the Ring was a PPV, no a event. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 21:35, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We have already discussed the WWE template does have special episodes. Please bring a different point, you have already said that. There are always exceptions. I think if the special edition is of a former PPV then, like the WWE template, that is the exception. BlackDragon 00:08, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The only Special episode I see in the navbox is GAB 2012 (and maybe, Royal Rumble 1988), but I don't see other specials. I think that, the best Idea is the wikiproject talk page. I think that no PPVs shouldn't be listed in a PPV navbox. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 02:06, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, WP:PW is probably the better place to discuss this at this point since more template(s) have come into the discussion.LM2000 (talk) 06:41, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly the GAB is the "EXACT" same situation we are discussing here. Im not saying to add "all" specials just the PPV specials. BlackDragon 14:43, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
