Dr. Dimitri Manuel (born June 16, 1975) is an international fashion producer and director, whose work has been recognized globally, including in Italy, United Kingdom, Turkey, Georgia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

Dimitri Manuel was born and raised in Tbilisi, Democratic Republic of Georgia. Fluent in eight languages, Dimitri comes from a family of medical professionals, as both parents and siblings are doctors. He himself is a doctor, a degree he earned from attending Tbilisi State Medical University. Always realizing that his calling was in fashion, Dimitri had begun working in the industry as Sales and Marketing Manager for FashionTV Europe owned by Michel Adam Lisowski, whilst still in medical school.

Career[edit]

Dimitri departed his home country of Georgia in 2000 to live in leading fashion European nations, including Italy and Spain, working at and collaborating with major fashion houses and entertainment productions, such as Elite Model Look Agency, Fashion Week Life, and Style Fashion Week^[1]. From being an Event Director, to a General Manager, to a Producer, Dimitri’s network in the industry grew and expanded, and people would often seek his guidance and expertise upon organizing fashion events and shows. While living in Milan, Italy, his clients included international models Nick Bateman and Xenia Tchoumitcheva, just to name a few, and prominent designers such as Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Paco Rabanne, and Patuna Bushyhead.

Moving to New York City in 2014, Dimitri’s previous European successes landed him a role of Art Director for Couture Fashion Week New York. Working alongside Andres Aquino, founder of the organization, Couture Fashion Week New York has become one of the most exclusive and successful fashion events in the world, particularly in the past couple of years. Naturally, at this role, Dimitri has opportunities to meet and work with international couture designers; at the same time, the role enables him to coach and provide directions to models who walk on the couture runway.

Currently a resident of New York City, Dimitri is also the President and co-founder of New York FashionTV S&D Corporation, which offers all-things-fashion expertise and networking on a global basis. The company collaborates with organizations and designers in other states and countries for fashion events, such as Milan, Paris, and Berlin Fashion Weeks, as well as Super Chic Miami Fashion Week. The subdivision of his company, S&D Fashion Academy, often provides its clients with access to its students to model, walk on runways, sing, or provide professional photography and video services at any of these major shows. His current and long-time international clienteles range from New York-based fashion house Indonesia Fashion Gallery^[2], to renowned Indonesian couture designer Mira Indria, to the Miss Guatemala East Coast beauty pageant organization.

Future Work[edit]

As a fashion veteran, Dimitri Manuel's main vision is to propel his organization to produce its own worldwide-fashion shows, TV show, magazine, fashion line, and for it to be unique from other similar companies. Realizing that New York fashion industry could still be improved, Dimitri and his team will continue to contribute to the successful advancement of the New York fashion market, by leveraging his professional expertise and the organization’s substantial capabilities.
