Jane Hope (12 November 1766 - 9 June 1829) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life[edit]

Her father was John Hope (7 September 1704 - 12 September 1781), the 2nd Earl of Hopetoun.

Her mother was Jane Oliphant (died 16 March 1767). John and Jane married on 30 October 1762.

Jane Hope was born in 12 November 1766 in Abercorn, West Lothian.

She married Henry Dundas (28 April 1742 - 28 May 1811), the Rt. Hon. Viscount Melville, in 1793.

After Henry Dundas died, she remarried on 16 February 1814. This was to Thomas Wallace (1768 - 23 February 1844) from Brampton in Cumbria.
