Robert Archibald Kennedy (9 March 1866 - 10 December 1951) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life[edit]

His father was Archibald Kennedy (born c. 1840), a tailor from Kirkoswald, Ayrshire.

His mother was Jane McLardie (born c. 1841) from West Kilbride, Ayrshire. Archibald and Jane married in 1865 in West Kilbride.

Robert Archibald Kennedy was born on 9 March 1866 in West Kilbride.

He married Janet Lawson Bell Fleming (1878 - October 1962) from Kinning Park, Glasgow. They married in 1903 at Kinning Park.[3]

They had 3 children.[4]

He worked as a draper for Patrick Thomson Ltd.[5] In 1926, while staying at 53 Ladysmith Road in Edinburgh, he obtained 1000 shares in the Scottish Drapery Corporation Ltd. They were valued at £3150.[6]

Death[edit]

He died on 10 December 1951 in Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary at the age of 85. His usual residence was then 61 Howdenhall Road in Liberton, Edinburgh.

The funeral service was at the Church of Christ in Dalkeith Road on 13 December 1951. He is buried in Liberton cemetery. [7]
