E. C. K. Douglas was a Scotland international rugby union player and hammer thrower.
Rugby Union career[edit]
Amateur career[edit]
He played for Edinburgh University.[1]
Provincial career[edit]
He played for East of Scotland District in 1942.[2] He played for the East side in 1944 against the Army side, scoring two tries in a 19 - 15 win for the District side.[3]
International career[edit]
Douglas played in the 21 March 1942 Services International match against England for Scotland. As a Services international, Douglas was finally given a retrospective cap in 2023.[4]
He played as a wing, centre and full back for Scotland.[5]
Athletics career[edit]
He threw a British record of 179 feet, 10 inches in the hammer-throwing. He was retrospectively awarded the Crabbie Cup in 1951 for his performance.[6]
He represented Scotland in the British Empire Games in the event.[7]
