Greetings, آداب, Hola, Saluton!
I'm Ahmer Jamil Khan, from Karachi, Pakistan, currently living in Nottingham, England.
Welcome to my Wikipedia user page.
About Me
[edit]I'm a Wikipedia editor, living in Nottingham, United Kingdom. I am a post-graduate Law student studying LL.M. and Bar Professional Training Course at Nottingham Trent University having graduated from the University of London, and having received academic instructions from SZABIST. I completed high school from St. Michael's Convent School. I am also a current post-graduate student of LL.M. at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law.
Although I joined in early 2009, I only began actively editing in October 2009. I tend to contribute to articles that interest me, which tend to fall under the subjects of planes, technology and science, web applications and services, politics; Pakistani politics in particular and the world politics in general.
I revert vandalism from Wikipedia articles and take pride in it, and I recognize the importance of in line references and citations, and most, if not all of my edits are accompanied by references and/or citations. I also believe that all encyclopedia articles and stubs should have links to relevant articles. Often, when reading through the article, I use the links in the See also section to find further topics of interests, and where the See also section isn't available, I do create it with links to relevant articles.
Hobbies
[edit]I am a web developer, and have designed, developed and maintain web sites and wikis for different individuals, non profits and organizations. I do all of this work without charge, out of my own free will, as a hobby. I prefer web development on open source software, and most of the web sites I develop and maintain are WordPress based. The wikis I maintain are based on the MediaWiki software.
Law
[edit]After being a science student throughout high school, I decided to switch to Law. This was perhaps one of the best decisions I took. I enrolled in the University of London International Programmes, and also enrolled in SZABIST for academic instructions.

I have been awarded a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of London. I have studied Public Law, Criminal Law, Common Law Reasoning and Institutions and Elements of the Law of Contract in the first year, Tort Law, Property Law, Law of Trusts and Introduction to Islamic Law in the second year and European Union Law, Jurisprudence and Legal Theory, Company Law and International Protection of Human Rights in my third year. I also gave an oral presentation on the UN System for the Protection and Enforcement of Human Rights and authored a research essay on Does Right to Life include a Right to End Life? Legal challenges to suicide and assisted suicide.
After completing LL.B. I enrolled for LL.M. with Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law, which is the first Law University in Pakistan. I passed the Bar exams and got enrolled as an advocate with the Sindh Bar Council and joined the Karachi Bar Association as a member.
I practiced as an advocate in Karachi, Sindh before studying for the LLM Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) from Nottingham Trent University. I joined the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn. The BPTC included modules on Resolution of Disputes out of Court, Opinion Writing, Conference, Drafting, Examination-in-Chief, Cross-Examination, Civil Advocacy, Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation, Evidence and Sentencing and Professional Ethics, Advanced Civil Advocacy and Commercial Litigation. I completed the BPTC with a grade of Very Competent in July 2017 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 2018. I am a member of the General Council of the Bar of England and Wales. I also completed my LLM from Nottingham Trent University. I am also a student member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Ahmer Jamil Khan v. Federation of Pakistan
[edit]During my first year at Law school, the Internet censorship in Pakistan annoyed me to the verge that I decided to do something about it. The ever increasing net of censorship was too much to bear for me. The only solution that I could think of was to take the Federal Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to Court, challenging the legality, and Constitutionality of the internet censorship, including the ban on YouTube.
The case was filed before the High Court of Sindh, and as of now, the case is pending before a divisional bench of the High Court.
The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees a right to Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Information, Freedom of the Press, Right to Education amongst other rights. In all, the censorship is a blatant violation of over a dozen fundamental rights including those mentioned above.
