Well, we all need something to aim for, right?

Vision for Wikipedia[edit]

I have a dream, a dream that one day, Wikipedia will be comprehensive, accurate and referenced. A dream that one day, no-one will attempt to write encyclopedias because they would not sell. That one day Featured Articles won't exist anymore: because there are so many, Bad Articles will be used instead. I dream of the day when admins can beat their blocking tools into talkpage discussions. When editors don't leave in frustration at the dismissal of their efforts, but stay in contentment at being appreciated. When AfD has so few articles, every user can vote on every one.

I dream of a world that respects Wikipedia, that produces news articles about the good it has done. I want to be able to tell academics that I edit Wikipedia, and be respected for it, not discouraged. And most importantly, I want every single person on this planet to know what Wikipedia is: the sum of human knowledge, freely available to anyone with Internet access. And the greatest project on Earth.

My Personal Vision[edit]

My personal vision, or ambition, is that one day, I will have written some of the best articles out there. That the FA list on my userpage is so long I have to hide it under a show tag. That I am recognised for this. That my mediations will go well, that I am able to attend every Wikimeetup in the UK, and that I can bring something extra to every discussion I participate in.

Bring it on. Dev920 (check out this proposal) 10:22, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
