Chosun Medicine (also translated as Korean Medicine; Korean조선의학) is a North Korean quarterly general medical journal established in 1954 as Juche Medicine and published by the Science and Encyclopedia Publishing House (과학백과사전출판사).

History

Chosun Medicine was first published in 1954 as Juche Medicine[1]

Format

Like other North Korean scientific journals, articles published in Chosun Medicine articles published since 2000

Some articles published in the journal have short summaries written in English.[2]

Research

The journal publishes research in a diverse range of medical topics.[1] The most common type of research published in Chosun Medicine , followed by clinical trials.[3]

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, an increasing number of articles published in Chosun Medicine cite articles published in the United States.[3]

Readership

Chosun Medicine is one of ten North Korean medical journals available in South Korea.[4]
