Typhoon Irma, known in the Phillippines as Typhoon Ining, was the most strongest and intense hurricane of the 1971 Pacific typhoon season. Mostly known for achieving the most fastest pressure drop and intensification in a 24-hour period (later surpassed by Typhoon Forrest of 1983), Typhoon Irma did not bring about much significant damage in the Pacific other than minor damage in the Caroline Islands.
